Godiva Awakes

Godiva has journeyed all the way to London powered by a team of 100 cyclists riding Pashley tricycles.

Congratulations to all involved in the awakening and journey of Imagineer Productions' 21st Century Godiva. After a spectacular performance where she was awoken in her home town of Coventry, Godiva has journeyed all the way to London powered by a team of 100 cyclists riding Pashley tricycles, led by British Cycling Champion Mick Ives.

Godiva Awakes is one of a series of 12 public art commissions across the UK created to celebrate the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, funded by Arts Council England. Running on sustainable energy through cycle power it has put the West Midlands on the map, capturing the imagination of the country and the world, with the skill and ingenuity of the region. Passing through Rugby, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Luton, Hatfield, and Waltham Abbey, it has been an epic challenge for all the cyclists and those involved; very much in tune with the Olympic spirit of courage and determination.
