On Saturday 14th, postmen Keith Elgar, Graham Hill, Richard Wood & Luke Elgar summited the notorious Alpe d'Huez (Le Tour de France) on their 3 speed Pashley Royal Mail Bikes, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. It involved over 13km of relentless riding up to a height of 1815m. They completed the climb in just under 1:30 hours, stopping only once to refill drink bottles at ‘dutch corner’.

Keith mentioned “Our concern whilst driving up the day before to our hotel at the summit was that some sections were too steep for the 3 speed Pashley however they served us brilliantly and despite our legs screaming at us, the post bikes were more than up to the challenge. We now cannot wait to watch le Tour de France stage at Alpe d'Huez on Thursday to watch the pros follow in our pedal strokes.”

Postmen sat on their Pashley Pronto Mailstar bikes in front of a red Royal Mail lorry.

Many congratulations to the riders from all at Pashley. If you would like to support their challenge, please visit their fund raising page: Alp d'Huez Challenge.
