In June 2010, four riders cycled for 8 days on 3 speed Guv’nors from London, across northern France and onto Morzine in the French Alps, a journey of 800 miles. In doing so they raised £50,000 for the Lavender Trust, a charity set up for the support of women affected by breast cancer. This unique fundraising event was hugely successful and the Lavender Trust and Breast Cancer Care were thrilled with both the amount raised and the exposure that it brought to such an important charity. For this reason the four riders have decided to take on this physical challenge again, only this time they will cycle an even harder route.

On Saturday 26th May 2012, these intrepid riders will set off from Barcelona in Spain and pedal their bicycles 800 miles over the Pyrenees, traversing southern France to the Alpine town of Morzine Avoriaz. They will be riding unsupported on Pashley 3 speed Clubmans, dressed in replica vintage cycling clothing, carrying only a small saddle bag with one change of clothes, spare parts for the bike and maps. Reminiscent of a scene from an old Tour De France they will cycle along roads and pass over many mountains made famous by the world’s toughest cycle race.

If you wish to show your support for the Angel Ride, any donations would be very gratefully received. Please visit www.justgiving.com/angelride2012 for further information.
